Wifi and Home Network
One of the most important things in a home today is Wifi coverage and reliable connection. We now have so many devices connecting within a home. The hardware provided by service providers cannot handle the amount of bandwidth we are needing.
With that being said, it is very important to make sure your home has multiple Wifi Access Points (WAP) throughout. This will insure you have strong coverage. It will also make sure there are not too many devices connecting to any one WAP.
UBNT Network Products
At Home Concepts we switched to the Unifi series of networking products and have never been so impressed. Not only are system costs much lower than our previous products but our service calls have all but disappeared.
We combine these amazing products with a hosting service that manages, tests, and maintains our client networks. This insures that your system is up to date with security protocols. It also means that your home wifi network is optimized for new technology.
Common Questions:
Why is my internet so slow?
Most likely you are using the service provider router and wifi “boosters” to cover your large custom home. Ask us about upgrading to enterprise grade hardware. This will relieve so much stress in your life!
Who should I switch to for my internet service?
You shouldn’t. It’s not typically the service to your home that is the issue……it’s the cheap service provider hardware.
Why don’t I see a 5Ghz network like my last house?
The new enterprise grade network that we installed for you is smart enough to give you the best connection. For instance, if your device will benefit from the 5Ghz connection, it will connect via 5Ghz. 5Ghz has a much smaller range. 2.4Ghz is more than enough for almost all of the normal usage we need today.
When I do a speed test why am I not getting the speed I am paying for?
If you are connected to Wifi on a network with many other things connected to it you will not get the full speed your service provider is providing to the house. If you have one pie and want to share it with everyone in your family, not everyone can have the whole pie. Also, speed test apps are not at all accurate. They are just a glimpse of the current speed your one device is being given at that given time.
