Why do I need a screen?
- The screen is just as important as the projector when it comes to creating a uniform image
- Choosing the right screen to match the projector will optimize colour reproduction and enhance clarity
Can’t I just project onto the wall?
- Of course you can but a painted wall has many imperfections and a bumpy surface meaning light will reflect off in all directions instead of uniformly back to the viewer
- A good screen will help make up for inefficiencies in the projector giving you a better image.
Screen Innovations Material Hierarchy
- Black Diamond – The best screen on the market for Ambient Light Rejection (ALR)
- Slate 1.2 – This will be our go to for ALR but less money than Black Diamond and can be used on larger screens
- 9x finer than standard projection screens (JKP level)
- 8K rated
- Used by NASA
- Pure White/Gray – This would be the direct replacement for the JKP
- Less ALR than the Slate even with the Gray
- Wide viewing angle
- Solar White/Gray – This is the budget screen that still has screen technology and fine flat surface
- Gamma – This is the fabric brought straight from China, no technology just a Matta fabric (MSTR, Grandview, etc)
